Make your VOICE! heard!
The OPPORTUNITY:
- Student/Youth teams write and produce 3-4 minute videos about any youth/election issue, critical topic related to the elections, other critical issues in Lebanon of concern to young people, election reform, how elections work in Lebanon, etc.
- Winning selections will be aired on a special Kalam Ashabab segment on Kalam An-Nas TV talk show on LBC.
- The creators of winning entries may have the opportunity to go on the show on the night their video is shown.
- All videos (that meet basic basic standards) will go on the Internet (after broadcast).
- All submitted videos may be part of a Sawt Ashabab Video Festival/Party tentatively schedule for soon after the election.
The PROCESS:
1- Student/youth groups submit ideas to RootSpace/Sawt Ashabab, which will respond and give comments/suggestions.
2- Student/youth groups must submit the videos to Sawt Ashabab at RootSpace by the deadlines specified below.
2- A panel of journalists, students, technicians, and young people select the videos to be aired.
3- Sawt Ashabab provides the videos to the show as they are selected for airing.
The DATES:
- Competition begins!! Contact us any time (see below) with your project/story idea.
- VIDEO SUBMISSIONS ARE ACCEPTED UNTIL JUNE 7.... though the earlier you submit the more likely your content will be aired on TV.
The RESTRICTIONS:
- The team must be made up of people 25 years old and younger.
- The video must be in Arabic (or minimally, subtitled in Arabic).
- The piece must be critical, hard-hitting, well-produced, and follow basic journalistic principles. Groups and pieces cannot show bias towards or against specific political parties or politicians, but they can (and should) be thoughtful and critical of issues.

- When you send us your idea, be as detailed as possible about the issue you want to cover, the story/angle you will take, who will be part of the video (interviews, etc), who will be producing the video (names, ages, phone numbers, email addresses), and when you plan to have it done by.
