The 20th of December 08: one day in Beirut's Yahoo bike's story

Wasn’t sure whether it was a good idea to publish this on the Yahoo Purple Pedals blog, so I thought I would do it here… For those who tried tonight to localize David Munir Nabti’s yahoo bike on the map in Beirut (http://purplepedals.com/?p=296#comments) and did not succeed here’s a hint; The bike was today “arrested” by the Lebanese security services because it was parked near the house of the Lebanese MP Walid Joumblat in Clemenceau, Beirut. The fact that the bike is equipped with a camera and would take pictures that would directly be uploaded to the internet was considered as a “security threat” and thought to be spying on the deputy’s house. David Munir Nabti is still held by the security services, we were told he will be released by tomorrow morning… which we hope… The news was everywhere on the media today, but I thought that publishing it on the Purple Pedals blog on Rootspace website would make it a bit more real, since I still have trouble believing it! I have uploaded a picture of the bike published earlier this morning by the website nowlebanon.com on Google Docs, here’s the link: http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=d4qdwq5_2qwcnxccm&hl=en Dima
