The Hamra district last night resembled a ghost town; an unusual spell of silence filled the streets, pubs and cafes, limited numbers of random cars; many of which were convoys rejoicing their political party’s predictable victory, and inadequate figures of students gathered tightly into groups at the entrances of buildings and universities.
